Pros and cons of Slate.com app for iPhone and iPad

Slate.com app good for

Nice app. Its probably nice due to the written content offered, not exactly because of its funccionality. It is nonetheless nice. But it could be a little faster.

Slate provides good and interesting insights into current political affaires.

Does what it says. Never crashes on me and I love slate in general.

I love Slate and its nice to have it on my iPhone. The app used to be really buggy but that hasnt been a problem for a while.

Ive been using this app for 14 months, yeah its not as good as the full site but reports of constant crashing are overblown. Ive had maybe 4 instances of freezing while using it daily on both iPhone 4 and 4S. (work and personal). Lots of apps screw up, this one is better than most.

Cant read user comments, and sometimes slide shows and pics dont show up, but content is excellent and app shows improvement with each new iteration.

Some bad moments

Sooooooo sloooooow. New version please that actually lets me read the articles. I just installed the update (Aug 2012) and the app doesnt open, just crashes....

Except Trumpt, Slate.com has nothing interresting to tell. Please find another name, for example slatetrump.com

The app itself is ok, but the large banner ads are very annoying. A paid app shouldnt show apps at all.

I have to use Safari to go on the Slate website because this app crashes probably 9 out of 10 times I open it and it never loads new content correctly.

...And doesnt load content reliably. Worst ap on my phone, which is a tease since I enjoy the content on the full site. Just visit the full site and give this fragile ap a pass.

Certain articles make the app crash constantly - I want to know why the people of Westeros hate Jamie Lannister so much but I guess Ill never know. Frustrating.
