Bias Reporting

99% of your articles are so biased to the left of the political spectrum, you are not giving your readers the opportunity to hear both sides and make up their own minds on any issue. Very disappointing to be under-serving your readers who would like to understand completely the issue at hand. Reporting and not editorializing would be the fair thing to do.

Great app; I use it every day.

Broad range of content you can trust.

Does What It Should!

Great app so far. Interface is easy and great to look at – finding content I want can be at first glance from images alone (very few image laden apps work for me). #1 rule of graphics–form must follow function, which apparently isnt taught anymore. I want to be able to read fonts and I dont want to battle clutter. I have enough clutter in my closet, not to mention my brain! Had the app for about a month now and its running as smoothly as could be. Please dont improve it!!! Im connecting via iPhone 6+

Wonky app

The content is great but the app has problems loading the article reader comments.

Better experience on mobile web than app

Their mobile website is more complete and user friendly than their app. For example: - Many posts embed video that are not able to be played or even rendered in the app. - App doesnt support landscape mode, mobile site does

Sad

Little real news, rehashed and cliched opinions, buggy app. So disappointing.

Not sure what is going on

It started to do an update last week and I guess it froze up during the process. Now its dark and says "waiting..." underneath the app. I tried app support but it just takes me to their terrible mobile site where I cant find support. It wont even let me delete the app. I thought the new iOS 10 would do something with it. But its just stuck there.

Not able to see time in app

Blocks out the time/battery signal/wifi/Bluetooth bar at the top of the screen - I feel sort of bad giving it one star, because I enjoy the content, but not being able to see the time while in the app is too much of a pet peeve to let go.

Great app

Really good progressive website/app

Search function glitch

I havent used the app very extensively, but I ran a keyword search to find an article I had heard about and when I clicked on the title of the article in the list of search results, nothing happened. Thats a pretty basic feature thats broken. I guess Ill just use the mobile site.

Best way to read Slate articles on my iPhone

This is more reliable than the browser version and easier to navigate. Plus, the comments are displayed better and work properly for me.

Slate + Gets The Job Done

I am not a fan of most of Slates writing. So much click bait, and where do I start with the "expert analysis." Having said this, I enjoy seeing the other side of crazy. Id rather rely on Mother Jones for my weed-baked in-depth reporting.

Well-written astute assessments.

I Acknowledge a "progressive" bent in viewpoints, but find no fault therein, particularly as the authors avoid dogma and adhere to rational arguments. I seek several versions of coverage of issues and events and routinely include Slate for its thoughtful review of timely issues.

Just needs stickers!!!

No app is complete without them.

Scroll bar?

Did you remove it? I like to see how much is left of an article. Then I know if its a good place to pause or continue read to the end.

Needs better starting options

I like reading slate, but honestly I dont care for the new app. It is prettier but less useful. Before, it would put you in the most recent articles. Now it dumps you in the popular articles. Before switching was easy. Now you have to navigate a drop down menu. App is poorly thought out for how I want to consume news.

Changes dont amount to much

I love Slates journalism. The app is meh. The changes dont seem to improve the app in any significant way and swipe navigation is broken. Frankly, its easier to access Slate over the web or mobile web.

Was Pretty Good; Now, Not So Much

The prior versions of the app put you into the queue of all Slate articles, starting with the most recent. Scrolling down took you backwards in time. It was easy to keep track of what you had seen and not seen. This version puts you in "Top Stories" with no way to change the default. Okay, geniuses, what happens when Ive already all the "Top Stories"? Extra swiping through menus to get to "Recent". Its harder to keep track of where Ive been within the app. Thanks for nothing. There are many things I see people complain about Slate. (I dont get the complaints about Livefyre commenting. Ive never had a problem.) Ive never seen one person complain about the default view being "Recent". Probably a change approved by a son or daughter of a former executive who signed off on New Coke back in the day.

Ok interface, Bring back new articles to home page

Please make the most recent articles load on the main screen as opposed to the popular articles. Finding new content is better than seeing the same articles over and over again.

Non functional

Come guys, fix this up
